Unique Rotating
Build Tray: Explained

Ideal Footprint-to-Tray Ratio

With a special unique rotating build tray and stationary print head, the J55 3D printer allows for a better footprint-to-tray ratio while keeping the excellent quality and resolution that PolyJet technology provides.

The Statistics

Print Area1174 cm2Build Volume140 mm x 200 mm x 190 mmFull Volume1174 cm2 x 18.7 cm = 22 liters Max Printable Height18.7 cm

The Details

The printing tray is divided into the active printing area and the transfer zone, which remains empty throughout the printing process.

The transfer zone enables quicker printing and no time delay thanks to the axis motion during the printing process. The dynamic transfer zone area also changes depending on the size and placement of models on the tray.

This allows the stationary print head to print a layer and reposition within the same print tray rotation. The transfer zone also reduces the purging time for the print head.

Transfer Zone

Using the entire tray for active printing without the transfer zone is not recommended, as it would result in the print taking about 2x longer.

Three Separate Swaths

The printing tray is broken up into three swaths. In general, the print jobs placed on the inner swath can finish up to 3x faster than print jobs placed on the outer swath.
