Faster, more cost-effective and streamlined process

With Stratasys Aircraft Interiors Certification, it is now possible for aerospace companies to have a faster, more cost-effective and streamlined process. In the past, each additively manufactured end-use aircraft component which are non–flight critical had to be qualified individually. Presently, using the National Center for Advanced Materials Performance (NCAMP) design allowables, tools and documentation to show equivalency to a particular dataset, parts can be certified quickly as it enables reproduction of a single part after receiving qualification of that particular part. This allows manufacturers to leverage on the efficiency of producing repeatable and consistent parts within a short timeframe.

Quality assurance

The Stratasys Aircraft Interiors Certification includes all the elements required to design and build aircraft interior parts which meet stringent FAA and EASA certification requirements using FDM-certified ULTEM™ 9085 resin material. This material features a high strength-to-weight ratio, high thermal and chemical resistance, and flame, smoke and toxicity (FST) ratings. It is produced in smaller batches and tested regularly, thereby providing quality assurance.

Reduce qualification investment and risk

With this, instead of creating their own set of design allowables, companies simply need to show equivalency to a smaller test lot using the Aircraft Interiors Configuration Fortus 900mc. This process is consistent and repeatable. The Process Control Documentation (PCD) ensures that each Fortus 900mc is setup correctly and performing up to expectations. In addition, the Stratasys Aircraft Interiors Certification comes with material and process specifications, and CMB files when implementing a process. Companies are able to reduce qualification investment and risks as compared to creating their own material design allowables dataset.

The end result? Companies can enjoy increased productivity and profit with significant cost and time-savings.
