Customer Profile

SRT in Mumbai is a leading provider of digital workflow solutions, offering 3D scanning, reverse engineering, 3D printing, and post-processingwith a Customer Innovation Center for hands-on industry experiences.

Challenges

The company produces 200 parts weekly - mainly automotive, consumer, and electrical components using limited staff and equipment. Challenges arose with manual support generation and build crashes on SLA and DLP machines, especially for complex geometries. Skilled engineers had to manually adjust supports, consuming time and resources. These ongoing issues and frequent urgent requests prompted the team to seek a new approach.

Solutions

While SRT had long used Magics software, they had not yet explored Materialise e-Stage. Their interest grew through webinars, exhibitions, and word-of-mouth, leading them to test e-Stage to assess its capabilities.

Upon first applying e-Stage for 3D printing jewelry patterns, they quickly recognized the advantages of automated support generation. With parameter optimization by a Materialise application engineer, the software adapted to different printing technologies, materials, and geometries, ensuring successful builds.

By the end of their trial, the team was convinced—e-Stage delivered outstanding efficiency and time savings, with build quality surpassing expectations, making it their preferred solution.

Materialise e-Stage has reduced material usage, fully automated support generation, improved part quality due to reduced supports, and facilitated faster processing times.- Nitin Chaudhari, Partner at Shree Rapid Technologies

Impact

The fully automated e-Stage process cut material use by 50% and printing time by 10–15%, while also reducing support generation and improving part quality. Its needle-thin contact points made supports easier to remove and minimized finishing work, while reducing build crashes on complex designs. These results led to lower costs, higher reliability, and consistent use of e-Stage for benchmarks and prototypes, with plans to expand its application further.
